Brett Helms, a senior scientist in the Materials Sciences Division and the Molecular Foundry, has been recognized with the Henry H. Storch Award in Energy Chemistry by the American Chemical Society. This award is given annually to an individual who has made an outstanding contribution or contributions to fundamental or engineering energy-related research and development and education that address the world’s energy and chemical challenges.
Helms specializes in designing organic and polymeric materials, developing battery electrode and electrolyte systems, and engineering mesostructured materials with controlled properties for energy and advanced manufacturing applications.
